"O dia da grande limpeza" uma iniciativa que demonstra a preocupação em colocar a Letónia na corrida pelo pais mais limpo do mundo.

São na experiência que se vê os bons exemplos. Graças ao intercâmbio Erasmus+ "Be Green", tivemos a oportunidade de nos juntarmos ao movimento voluntário dos letões na grande limpeza. Estas acções ocorrem por todo o país e já dura uns bons anos, tudo começou em 2008.
As acções são bem planeadas, as pessoas se inscrevem e lhe são atribuídas um local de limpeza. Temos direito a todo o material necessário, desde luvas, sacos e até capas plásticas impermeáveis. Estas últimas deram imenso jeito porque em Abril tanto chove ou neva na Letónia.
A nossa área de acção foi perto de um lago, um espaço perfeito para fazer piquenique, festas, mais propriamente presença humana. Pois encontramos um pouco de tudo, desde embalagens de plástico, garrafas, latas, chinelos, etc.
Numa hora conseguimos juntar uns belos sacos cheios de lixo! Só não conseguimos mais, pelo menos falo por mim, porque muito do lixo estava no lago e não tinha calçado apropriado para apanhar, ou acabava com os pés molhados.
No fim fomos recompensados com bebidas quentes e doces, que com o frio que estava nesse dia, contribuiu para um bom final com momento para o convívio.
Por fim, esta foi uma bela ideia e senti-me útil a fazer algo para contribuir por um mundo melhor. São estas acções que me fazem sentir que ainda à esperança nas pessoas!
"The big cleanup day" is an initiative that demonstrates the concern to put Latvia in the race for the world's cleanest country.

It's in these kinds of experiences that you see the good examples. Thanks to the Erasmus + Be Green youth exchange, we had the opportunity to join to the voluntary movement of Latvians in the big clean-up. These actions take place all over the country and already last a good bunch of years, everything began in 2008.
Actions are well planned, people sign up and they will have a cleaning spot. We had access to all necessary material, from gloves, bags and even plastic covers for rain. These last ones were very useful because in April it rains or snows in Latvia.
Our place of action was near from a lake, a perfect space to make picnics, parties, more properly a place where you have human presence. Because we found a little bit of everything, from plastic containers, bottles, cans, flipflops, etc.
In an hour we collect a bunch of bags full of trash! We just can not collect more, at least I speak for myself, because a lot of the garbage was in the lake and did not have proper footwear to catch, or i would ended up with wet feet.
In the end, we were rewarded with hot drinks and sweets, which with the cold that was in that day, contributed to a good end.
Finally, this was a beautiful idea and I felt useful to do something to contribute for a better world. It is in these kinds of actions that make me still have hope in people!
